Job Summary
We are seeking a Baker to join the team at our busy restaurant! In this role, you will prepare a variety of cakes, breads and pastries. You will be responsible for opening the bakery in the morning and prepping for the day ahead. The ideal candidate has previous bakery experience and a passion for creating delicious breads and pastries. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Open the bakery and prepare for the day ahead
- Clean and sanitize equipment and baking areas
- Bake a variety of breads, cakes, and pastries
- Decorate cakes
- Prepare custom orders
- Track, maintain, and order inventory as necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker, pastry chef, or in a similar role is preferred
- Ability to use professional-grade kitchen appliances and equipment
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Previous experience decorating cakes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Team player
- Available for early morning shifts
Compensation: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Our Story
The name, Della J's Delectables, was inspired by my mother, Della, who along with my father, Lee, provided the inspiration for everything I do. I added my own modern twist to some of my mother’s favorite recipes and included a few new favorites, thus Della J’s was created.
I developed my love for cooking at a young age. Over the years I perfected my dishes and shared them with family and friends. I love seeing the look on their faces as they take their first bite from a dish I have created, that alone is worth all the hard work it takes to prepare these delicious foods. I hope you too will experience my food.
My wife, Lydia, the backbone of this operation, has assisted me in the kitchen for years. She is the manager behind our business, from helping me shop, prepare, cook, to handling all of our paperwork. My sister Judy, who has always believed in me, has been instrumental throughout this journey. As a team, we are eager to share our passion for food with you.
